The Therapeutic Riding Hippo-Helper is an adaptable positioning device which stablilizes a rider, allowing the therapist and side walkers to focus more effectively on the rider. It provides a surface for upper extremity weight bearing to facilitate trunk/head control and upper extremity use. The Hippo-Helper has been successfully utilized in PATH International (NARHA) approved riding centers. It is adjustable, allowing for different configurations for the needs of different riders. The Hippo-Helper has a bean bag attachment to accommodate the horse's withers.

The bolster has adjustable straps that can be attached to each side of a saddle, surcingle or bareback pad.
